Top wallet wins $8,467 in first drop from Immutable’s Perpetual Rewards

Almost 12 months after launching its The Main Quest campaign, allowing users to collect gems daily, Immutable has now launched what it calls its Perpetual Rewards System.
This uses the offchain gems that people have been claiming as the currency to buy an offchain key, the rarity of which is determined by how active a user has been within the Immutable ecosystem.
Working on a weekly cadence, players who have verified their Immutable Passport wallet via a phone number and a social media account can purchase a single key for 500 gems.
However, in order to qualify for these rewards, users must complete at least one in-game quest, by downloading and playing one of the games supported by the Perpetual Rewards System. By completing more quests, users will earn more gems.
Additionally, by claiming daily gems, watching selected videos, and by following and interacting with the supported games, users can stack up more gems.
Further boosting the importance of participation, every key has a rarity level – from common to legendary – based on that wallet’s activity within the Immutable ecosystem in the past week.
Every Wednesday, users must then burn their key to claim the random rewards, which expire after 30 days if not claimed.
Rewards include IMX tokens, more gems, free entry into next week’s draw or a key rarity boost.
Users can buy their keys between Thursday to Monday, with rewards calculated every Tuesday.
In terms of the first reward drop, $235,000-worth of IMX where available as the overall prize pool, with one lucky wallet receiving 20,955 IMX tokens, worth around $8,467.
Other top wallets received between $750 to $950-worth of IMX.
The prize pool for the current cycle is 218,923 IMX, worth around $90,000, with around 7,000 wallets already signed up.
