Mobile-first gaming L2 ZKcandy’s mainnet goes live

Ethereum L2 blockchain ZKcandy has gone live, with eight web3 games including Pepe Kingdom, Candy Defense and Sugar Rush.

Developed by game company iCandy and ZKsync developer Matter Labs, ZKcandy had a successful testnet period, with around 2.5 million wallets created and the five testnet games attracting 230,000 active wallets.

To fulfil its goal of expanding to 2 million active wallets in the next six months, future releases will include games based on Hollywood film IP.

More generally, ZKcandy is focused on mobile-first web3 games, also using AI to create believeable NPCs, dynamic and unscripted storylines, thus providing an individualized experience to each player.

“We are proud to make ZKcandy available to the general audience. Our testnet has been a huge success, and this is only the beginning. With the $4 million private funding closed in January, we are looking to expand our partnership network by bringing large IPs and triple-A mobile games to web3,” commented CEO Kin Wai Lau.

“Blockchain gaming must be open and accessible to everyone, and it is our goal to ensure that all gamers can enjoy the transparent, secure, and low-friction experience we have to offer. Connecting mobile gaming and Web3 is a solution long overdue, and we are privileged to have the right team to do it.”
