Shrapnel unveils next playtest with $100,000 prize pool

US developer Neon Machine has unveiled details of its forthcoming Shrapnel playtest, STX3.1. Running for five days, the event is set to start on 24th June until 28th.

Announced to contain 1 million SHRAP rewards (worth around $100,000), participants in STX3.1 will be able to complete new missions in return for SHRAP, weapon skin fragments, and wildcard NFTs.

The six missions include

  • Get 3 kills with the Sigma Wave
  • Extract 5 Weapon Skin Fragments
  • Extract from The Zone 7 times
  • Craft one Weapon Skin from Fragments
  • Get 12 kills with any Suppressed Weapons
  • Extract 4,000 Sigma

Three of the six missions will award SHRAP tokens. Notably, half of the SHRAP prize pool will be bonus rewards for Operator holders managing to successfully complete all of the in-game missions.

Players looking to participate in the forthcoming STX3.1 playtest must own or purchase an Extraction Pack ahead of the event.

PC-based extraction shooter Shrapnel has kept building momentum throughout 2024 with its regular playtests, as well as newly launched integrations such as direct debit/credit card payments, a new staking system and craftable skins. Its SHRAP token launched in November 2023 and runs on its own Avalanche-based subnet.
