Ahead of its global launch on Wednesday 15th May, Guild of Guardians has become the top traded gaming NFT collection spanning across all blockchains, as per CryptoSlam.
While its in-game hero collection had a trading volume of $125,000 during the week 6th-13th May, its PFP avatars have shot up and hit over $3 million in trading volume in the last 7 days, and over $500,000 in the past 24 hours.
The floor price is currently $121, which compares to a floor price of $3.50 for the in-game NFT characters.
Of other NFT collections on Immutable, Cross the Ages is the next largest, but its sale volume is less than 10% of Guild of Guardians’.
Among increasing volatility and crashing token prices, the GOG token also stands out as one of few in the green. Per CoinGecko, the token price is up 392% in the past 12 months, and 36% during the last 30 days.
Published by Immutable and co-developed by Mineloader, mobile roguelite squad battler Guild of Guardians has been in development in its current version for 14 months. Significantly, the game is among the first titles, and certainly the most high-profile, to launch on Immutable’s zkEVM mainnet.
Seen as one of the most anticipated blockchain games launching in 2024, it’s garnered over 1 million pre-registered users.
In Guild of Guardians’ opening season The Dread Is Here, which is running from 15th May to 26th June, players’ main focus is to build their squad in preparation for battles against The Dread.
Its first leaderboard event, Age of the Dread, contains $1 million worth of GOG tokens, and exclusive prizes such as Founder NFTs, and Ascendant Seals, which are in-game resources required to mint web2 assets. Additionally, these prizes are set to increase with every new user joining the competition.
In the following season Guardians Unite, starting 26th June, the main focus changes to social and cooperative gameplay with features such as raids, crafting, and auctions. At this point the impact of guilds will also increase.
