Animoca Brands expands into MENA, opening its Dubai HQ

Animoca Brands has announced its strategic expansion into the MENA region, opening its first office in Dubai.

The new headquarters will serve as a hub to engage with local and international partners and meet the growing demands of web3 companies moving into the region.

Alongside the expansion, Animoca has also appointed Omar Elassar as managing director for the Middle East and head of global strategic partnerships. As such, he will oversee the company’s growth and operations in MENA. Prior to Animoca Brands, he was head of growth strategy and business development at web3 protocols including Polkadot, via Parity Technologies, and led strategic partnerships and investments at Ripple. 

Commenting on the MENA expansion, he said “We are excited to establish our first office in the Middle East, one of the world’s most connected innovation hubs.”
