Anonymous Labs, the company behind the Simon’s Cat memecoin, has announced it’s working on a web3 game using the Peaky Blinders IP.
Tapping Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of French TV producer Banijay Entertainment, Anonymous Labs head of web3 Joris Van Velzen and head of web3 dev Wojciech Gruszka said in a joint statement that “this deal shows that major IP brands are embracing blockchain as the future.”
As for Anonymous Labs, the company previously launched a memecoin based on the Simon’s Cat web cartoon.
Set to launch in 2026, its new game will be part of a broader ecosystem aiming to attract fans of TV show Peaky Blinders, which saw its breakthrough on BBC between 2013 and 2022. In addition to games, the ecosystem will feature other interactive experiences, action sequences and a tokenised in-game currency, all based on the IP. No official game title, genre, or platform have been unveiled yet.
Banijay Rights group director in licensing and merchandising David Christopher commented on the collaboration, “Peaky Blinders is a cultural phenomenon, and we are excited to expand its universe into the web3 gaming space with the expertise of Anonymous Labs. This project represents a new way for fans to engage with the brand while embracing the future of digital entertainment.”
