24th April: The Sandbox
While marketed as the highlight of alpha season 5, The Sandbox‘s Jurassic World experience has seen some strong competition from other high profile experiences.
Among them are Oasis of Quantum Consciousness, a social digital wellness garden fronted featuring Deepak Chopra, and the recently announced Bruce Lee-themed social hub, which will also be joined in future by a solo experience called Tao of the Dragon.
One of the standout experiences is The British Museum, which shares the same AdventureWorld: The Wildlands location as other major IPs, including Bruce Lee and Jurassic World.
Within The British Museum, players can move between numerous mini-games within the the museum itself. A nice feature is how the game keeps shifting between day and night, with many of its mini-games required to be completed within the three minutes of night-time.
One great example is the Four Tasks of Heracles, which see players digging a hole to trap a boar, trying to catch a stag, find a bull, and herd a bird. Another is a pair-matching game that reveals a code to solve Egyptian hieroglyphs.
After all, the real world British Museum does contain the Rosetta Stone.
With the season ending 12th May, there’s still about three weeks left to go.
